Breda, the town that has everything
Breda, the Pearl of the South, offers a wide range of cultural events and green spaces. It has long been the most important town in West Brabant and is the former capital of the “Baronie de Breda”.
It is a “Nassau” town with a rich past and historic buildings such as, the 13th century almshouse complex “Begijnhof”, the Church of Our Lady on the market square, and the castle which used to be the official residence of Willem of Orange.

Its culture and history
Breda is a modern town with plenty of museums, such as the Stedelijk Museum and the Begijnhof Museum, many art galleries, and also the unique “Bierreclame Museum”, a great pub for beer lovers. It’s a town full of sculpture and hosts the internationally famous biennial festival ‘Breda Photo’
Walking and Cycling
You can explore Breda by foot, by bike or by water. If you would like to venture further afield you can, for instance, walk or cycle the river Mark route, while a 30-minute bike ride takes you to the Belgian border. Enjoy the nearby Mast Woods and the Liesbos. The town also offers plenty of parks to relax in, not forgetting Breda Beach down by the river Mark, www.bredabeach.nl
